As a resident Indian, how do I transfer funds from my Indian account to Belong wallet?
As a resident Indian, you can transfer funds from your Indian savings account to Belong wallet in USD to invest. Follow the steps mentioned below to make the fund transfer to Belong wallet.
2. Add Belong wallet as a beneficiary to your bank app or internet banking
- Follow these steps to find the details of Belong wallet here
- Select the option of "Self Transfer" when you are prompted for the type of beneficiary
- Select the purpose code which is closest to "Transfer to my own bank account overseas"
3. Make the transfer
- Select Belong wallet beneficiary once the cool-off period is over
- Choose USD as the transfer currency
- Enter the amount you want to transfer
- Select India/GIFT City as your destination based on what is being shown in your bank app/internet banking
- Review the all the transaction details like exchange rate, applicable bank charges, and final credited amount
- Confirm the transfer and complete additional steps like entering your PIN or OTP verification
4. Charges and time taken
- Indian banks charge about 1% mark-up above the prevailing INR-USD conversion rates. There is an additional charge of Rs. 1500-2000 for the SWIFT transfer. The final charges are dependent on your bank.
- SWIFT transfer takes 2-3 working days to settle
