How to obtain/download e-PAN?

1. Visit the e-PAN portal

Go to the official e-PAN request and download page on the Protean website:
https://www.onlineservices.proteantech.in/paam/requestAndDownloadEPAN.html

2. Enter your details

Provide the required information:

  • PAN number (or Acknowledgement Number if you recently applied)

  • Date of Birth / Incorporation

  • Aadhaar number (if requested)

  • Captcha code

Click Submit to proceed.

3. Complete OTP verification

You will be asked to verify your identity using a One-Time Password (OTP).

You can receive the OTP on:

  • Your registered mobile number

  • Your registered email ID

  • Both

Enter the OTP received and click Validate.

4. Make the payment

If your PAN was issued more than 30 days ago, a small fee (8.26 INR) may be charged for downloading the e-PAN.

You can pay using:

  • Debit card

  • Credit card

  • Net banking

  • UPI

If your PAN was issued within 30 days, the download is usually free.

5. Download your e-PAN

Once verification (and payment, if applicable) is completed, your e-PAN will be sent to your linked email address. 

6. Open your e-PAN file

The downloaded PDF is password protected.

The password is usually your Date of Birth in DDMMYYYY format.

Example:
If your date of birth is 15 August 1990, the password will be 15081990.
